3 Shocking Causes of Cellulite Build Up

Why the body has Cellulite build up

What You Should Know About Cellulite Build Up

What is Cellulite | What Causes Cellulite | Treatment

The most common areas we see cellulite build-up is in our buttocks and thigh area. It’s a pesky fat issue that we wish would disappear at the snap of your fingers.

Unfortunately, most women will experience cellulite in her life. 80 to 90 percent in fact.

But with a change in diet, life habits, and treatment, you can get rid of that cellulite build-up and replace it with a smooth, toned area.

What is Cellulite

Cellulite is a build-up of lumps and indents in the skin. It usually builds up in the butt and thigh area. Since the skins and fat in the area are similar, they are usually the breeding ground for cellulite. Some cases are worse than others. But nonetheless, it’s an issue that has caused many to hide their legs with long and baggy clothing.

Though it impacts both men and women, it usually builds upon women more often. 80 to 90 percent of women will have an issue with cellulite build up in some form or fashion. Even when she works out and sticks to her diet cellulite may still stick around.

A scale was published in 2009 to define cellulite severity levels. It defined three different levels. Those levels were:

Grade One (Mild): 1-4 depressions in the skin, mild sagging to the skin, orange peel appearance.

Grade Two (Moderate): 5-9 depression in the skin, moderate sagging to the skin, cottage cheese appearance.

Grade Three (Severe): 10 or more depressions in the skin, severe sagging to the skin, mattress appearance.

What Causes Cellulite Build Up

At this point, there is no known reason as to why cellulite build up happens. The cause seems to be related to the connective layer of tissue that resides under the skin and the layer of fat that sits under it. Whatever the cause, it leaves an unflattering look where it builds up.

The build-up appears on men and women differently. For men, it shows up as a criss-cross pattern in the tissue. This causes it to show up less visible on men. The pattern is different for women. It’s arranged vertically and cause fat cells to indent into the skin. This then gives the appearance of cellulite.

Other possible causes of cellulite build-up include:

Diet and Lifestyle

Cellulite is not caused by fat or being overweight, but it can build up if from weight gain. A poor diet is the usual cause of weight gain and obesity. Not having enough fiber to fat and carbohydrate consumption can also be a contributing factor.

Tight clothing, specifically underwear tight-fitting around the buttocks, slows and cuts off blood flow to the area causing the formation of cellulite. Without blood reaching these areas, the surrounding tissue misses out on valuable vitamins and nutrients that keep it healthy and smooth.

Genetics

There have to be certain circumstances in place in order for cellulite to form. Persons genetic connection to their ethnicity, how fat forms under the skin and the speed of metabolism can be major factors cellulite forming.

Genetics creates strong similarities amongst family members. Children usually share strong genes with the parents who created them. If one or both parents are overweight, the children are more likely to have the same outcome.

Hormones and Age

As mentioned before, healthy blood flow is a major factor in the overall health of your body. Our hormones, vitamins, and nutrients are delivered throughout our bodies through this one-of-a-kind delivery system.

Since estrogen in women decreases in the approach to menopause, it’s theorized that decreased blood flow to the connective tissue under the skin also decreases. This could cause the skin to dip into the fat tissue and cause cellulite build up. Lower circulation means less oxygen in the area, resulting in lower collagen production. Fat cells also enlarge as estrogen levels fall.

Cellulite is more prevalent in people who have excess fat, but slim and fit people can have it too. It is more likely to happen after the age of 25 years, but it can affect younger people as well, including teenagers.

Our Treatment and Approach

Here at The Case Clinic, our patients experience a comfortable and relaxing setting. We use the Laser Lipo treatment to keep the process non-surgical and non-invasive. Instead of entering under the skin with a fat removal tool, we use LED light panels to melt the fat away.

The session takes about one hour. During the session, the LED light panels use low-level lasers to heat up and force your fat pockets to release their contents. Once this happens, the contents are removed from the body through urination. More than one session is advised to get the best results.

We keep it simple and comfortable. When you are done with your session, you can finish your day without any downtime needed.

Let The Case Clinic help you eliminate that difficult fat and cellulite buildup that JUST WON’T GO AWAY. D Case and his well-trained staff are always ready to provide you with the best wellness care possible.
